Scope and publisher
Quantum Information & Computation is published by Cerebration Science Publishing Co., Limited. This policy explains how information is handled for the journal website, editorial correspondence, manuscript submissions, publication and article processing charges.
The editorial office is the contact point for questions about this policy and requests concerning personal data. Contact details are provided below.
Correspondence and submissions
When you email the editorial office, your name, email address, message and any attachments are used to answer your enquiry and manage the relevant journal service. The journal’s email account uses Google Workspace.
Manuscripts are handled through the separate QIC submission system (OJS). Information provided there includes account and contact details, author names and affiliations, manuscript files and the declarations requested during submission.
These details, together with reviewer reports, editorial decisions and related correspondence, support manuscript assessment, peer review and preparation for publication. Editors and reviewers receive the information needed for their role. Please also consult the privacy information presented by the submission system.
Published research
Author names, affiliations and article metadata form part of the public scholarly record. Corresponding-author contact details may also appear in the published article. Published metadata may be shared with DOI registration, indexing and discovery services.
Requests concerning this record are considered alongside the journal’s correction and publication ethics policies.
Payment enquiries and records
For an accepted article, billing details may include the payer’s name, email and billing address, institution details and any tax or purchase-order information supplied. The manuscript reference, invoiced amount, payment reference and payment status are used to administer the APC, maintain accounting records and resolve payment or refund enquiries.
This website does not provide a card-entry form. Follow the payment instructions supplied by the editorial office and consult the notice shown by any separate payment service. Do not send full card details or passwords by email.
See Article charges for the APC and refund policy.
Hosting and technical information
This website is hosted by Netlify. The QIC website application does not maintain its own visitor IP logs or use advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Netlify may process technical connection data, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure the website. The separate submission and payment systems process information under their own privacy notices.
Cloudflare provides DNS services, which direct requests for the journal’s domain to its hosting service. The website is delivered by Netlify.
The QIC website application does not set tracking cookies. Separate services, including OJS, may use cookies for functions such as account sign-in and security.
Further information is available in the Netlify privacy statement, Cloudflare privacy policy and Google Workspace data processing terms.
Legal bases
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, the legal basis depends on the purpose of the processing:
- Steps requested before a publishing agreement, and performance of that agreement, including the submitting author’s manuscript and APC administration: Article 6(1)(b).
- Legitimate interests in managing peer review, responding to enquiries, protecting the website and maintaining an attributable scholarly record, including relevant co-author, reviewer and editor details: Article 6(1)(f), subject to the rights and interests of the people concerned.
- Applicable legal obligations, including accounting and tax record-keeping: Article 6(1)(c).
- Consent, where separately requested for a specific use: Article 6(1)(a). Consent can be withdrawn for future processing.
Sharing and international transfers
Information is shared as needed with editorial participants, service providers supporting hosting, DNS, email, submission administration and payments, and organisations receiving published article metadata. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Providers may process information outside your country. Their data processing terms describe applicable transfer safeguards. For example, Netlify’s data processing agreement and the Google Workspace terms address international transfers and standard contractual clauses. Contact the editorial office for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
Retention and your rights
Correspondence is retained while needed to handle the enquiry and related follow-up. Submission and review records are retained for editorial administration, research-integrity matters and any applicable legal requirements. Closing a submission account does not necessarily remove the associated editorial record.
Invoices and payment records are retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax rules. The published scholarly record is intended to remain available over time. Information no longer needed for its purpose or a legal obligation is deleted or anonymised; requests are assessed against these retention criteria.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or data portability. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it was withdrawn.
You may lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority. Where the GDPR applies, this includes the authority in the EU or EEA country where you live or work, or where an alleged infringement occurred.
Send requests to the editorial office with the subject “Privacy request”. Requests are considered in light of applicable legal obligations and the integrity of the scholarly record.
